Sit down a play!

On March 7, 2017, San Ramon Valley High School (SRVHS) and the Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program (BORP) will host the 2017 San Ramon Valley High School Roll 'n' Shoot.

The event is designed as a 3-on-3 Wheelchair Basketball tournament benefiting the Youth Sports Program at BORP.

About the Roll 'n' Shoot:

The Roll 'N Shoot will be comprised of teams of SRVHS students who will ‘sit down’ in wheelchairs to play wheelchair basketball against each other in a 10 team tournament. SRVHS players will be coached by BORP’s players and coaches throughout the event.

The money raised will support the Youth Sports Program at BORP.  This program provides the only competitive team sports for students with physical disabilities including a Prep (5-12 years old) and Varsity Team (13 years old--graduation).  BORP's Varsity wheelchair basketball team, the "Jr. Road Warriors" is the official youth wheelchair basketball team of the Golden State Warriors.  The team is one of only four youth wheelchair basketball teams in California and one of only 51 teams nationwide.

The Roll 'n' Shoot also serves as a disability awareness event for the entire community. The participants are playing in wheelchairs throughout the day and are able to see the court through the eyes of a person with a disability.

About BORP:

BORP is proud to be the Bay Area's leading provider of accessible sports and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities. Through activities such as wheelchair basketball, power soccer, sled hockey, adaptive cycling, and more, BORP makes it possible for individuals of all ages and ability levels to participate.
